Metal Czar Review
What if you could let go of all the things in life that control you? What if you could escape people's judgment of how your life should be? What would you do if you could live today without limitations? The continuous accumulation of emotional honesty and raw sensation without barriers or rules - An assault of your senses.

Enter: The Greatest Fear. In their new CD, "The Coronation Of The Locust Queen," Jane Saunders and Brian Thorn use their inventive songwriting style to challenge the very core of your ideologies and belief structures. In featured songs such as "New World Catastrophe," Jane serenades the listener. Enticing them to join in her "chorus of failure," Jane offers a resounding rant against those whose aim is to control through conformity. "The Coronation Of The Locust Queen" CD is a warzone of emotion and glaringly highlights the battle we all face: To move past the criticism of others and become who we really want to be. In the song, "God Is Not Love," The Greatest Fear calls out the self-righteous who mercilessly judge others. Jane's lyrics revile the aggressive and misguided tactics the self-proclaimed "person of faith" uses to attain the fast track to salvation. Her aggressive lyrical content commands the listener to find a place lost to many of us: A place that is attainable only through self-examination.

The Greatest Fear resides in this inner struggle and challenges the listener to create their own destiny regardless of society's critics.

The Greatest Fear's debut CD "The Coronation Of The Locust Queen" has won the coveted Independent Music Awards "2006 Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal Album Of The Year." The IMA awards are sponsored by The Musician's Atlas And Borders and the program judges included Norah Jones; Melissa Etherdidge; Joe Perry; George Clinton; Paquito D'Rivera as well as industry professionals from UltraStar Entertainment and Billboard Magazine. Selected from thousands of CDs, the Independent Music Awards has literally made the career of past artists (Last years winner was Lacuna Coil!).

The Greatest Fear was named as 2005's Best Gothic Band by L.A.'s premier Local Music Magazine: The Rock City News and has earned an unprecedented 10 out of 10 rating from the popular web reviewer The Local Supporter as well as being named the sites Artist Of The Month. "Being named The Local Supporter's Artist Of The Month is especially dear to us as it reflects approval from discerning metal fans," Jane remarked in a recent interview, "I am truly proud that all of the hard work we spent in the studio is appreciated and am completely ecstatic that we are respected by those who are more inclined to the heavier bands in metal.

"'The Coronation Of The Locust Queen" co-produced by Jane Saunders and Michelle Garuik (Devin Townsend) is probably the most earnest attempt at making a metal album truly from the feminine perspective. The sound is honestly heavy but at the same time uniquely female. The listener is never bombarded with either the 'Pussy Power' mentality that most female songwiters (who constantly sing about their vagina) force down our throats, or by the 'stuffing the sock in their pants' affrontery the other half of women in metal have."
